Poor Babe...
Our dog, Babe, was running around outside on Sunday evening when his right hind leg just gave out on him. It is so sad, he has been limping around since Sunday evening. I can't get him into the vet until Thursday. Has anyone ever heard of this? You can twist, turn and poke it and it doesn't seem to bother him, but he will not put any weight on it. He is hobbling around on three legs and it is driving me crazy to see him like this. He is three years old. He sure cried when it first happened. Poor thing!

Did he step on a something sharp, or could be a stress fracture. Just guessing.
My first thought was a luxating patella, but the more I thought about it,the less likely that would seem. I say this because usually the pain is only temporary-lasting approx. ten minutes or so and the dog should've been back to normal. ??? Luxating patellas are known for causing lameness in a dog, though. Usually smaller breeds of dogs have this. I hope Babe feels better soon and that the vet fixes him all up. :)

Above is a link to a site that you may want to read (regarding a luxating patella). According to this, a dog could be in discomfort for several days afterall. I guess I was wrong about the temporary pain...good luck!
I am no vet, my first guess would be a sticker or something caught in his foot. My kids will be sad, they have all been on this kick lately about boyfriend/girlfriends and they all say that Babe is Chloe's boyfriend!! These long distance relationships don't usually last though....
man i was going to say a yard sticker on his foot - but everyone else already said that.. so sorry no more ideas! My pup is a Black lab and we knew he was going to be BIG but not this big. Hes about 2 1/2 feet when hes just sitting, but the vet said hes no where near being done growing! YIKES!
